‘ZOMBIE’ DEER DISEASE

The CDC fears ‘zombie’ deer disease – an illness that infects the brain, spine and tissue of deer, elk and moose – is spreading in the U.S. (now in > 24 states) and could someday threaten the health of humans. No known human cases yet, and it’s not even known whether or not we could be infected, but the CDC is warning the public to play it safe. It is suggesting we “test” our meat before eating it, particularly from areas with documented infections.
